Not able to connect

Nov 7, 2013 at 2:09 PM
Hi, I am new to .net and thought to study through sample examples.
I downloaded application but not able to connect.
Can anyone tell me please what to change in connection string?
I changed the connection string as
<add name="NorthwindNETEntities" connectionString="Data Source=AMIT-PC\SQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=NorthwindNET;Persist Security Info=True;User ID=sa" providerName="System.Data.EntityClient" />
Is that correct?
Also I tried to run using msaccess database but i could not run reports in that?

Hi Amit

These worked for me:
<add name="NorthwindNETEntities" connectionString="metadata=res://*/NorthwindEntityDataModel.csdl|res://*/NorthwindEntityDataModel.ssdl|res://*/NorthwindEntityDataModel.msl;provider=System.Data.SqlClient;provider connection string="Data Source=COLORADO\SQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=NorthwindNET;Integrated Security=True;MultipleActiveResultSets=True"" providerName="System.Data.EntityClient" />

<add name="NorthwindNETEntities" connectionString="Data Source=COLORADO\SQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=NorthwindNET;Integrated Security=SSPI" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient"/>
As you can see, using integrated security. With SQL security you may need both User ID and Password.
COLORADO was my workstation.
